Role: Production Executive
Pearldrop is looking for a talented, energetic and highly capable Production Executive to join our growing production team.
About Pearldrop
Established in 2003, Pearldrop is a full-service creative film agency based in Stevenage, covering the whole of the UK and beyond. Our services include production, editing, animation, aerial photography and videography and stills. We work with a wide range of businesses, large corporations, schools and universities, national and local charities and government agencies.
The Opportunity
Job Title: Production Executive
Location: Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, Lytton Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG1 1LZ
Start Date: September/October 2026
This is a true 50/50 production and post-production role, with the opportunity to travel all over the UK, and occasionally into Europe, for shoots.
You will spend around half your time out on location: operating cameras, setting up lighting and sound, filming interviews and B-roll, setting up and operating gimbals, and working as part of a small professional crew. Our productions take us to clients and locations across the country, so this is a role with plenty of variety, travel and hands-on filmmaking.
The other half of your time will be spent in post-production at our Stevenage base, editing complete client films in Adobe Premiere Pro, creating graphics and animation in After Effects, shaping stories from interviews and rushes, selecting music, working with sound and colour, and taking projects through revisions to final delivery.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely strong on both sides of filmmaking: someone equally comfortable building a camera rig and building an edit; who understands how to create great material on location and then knows what to do with that material in the edit suite.
You might spend one day filming interviews in London, another editing a live event film at our Stevenage studio, and later that week be travelling across the country — or occasionally overseas — for another production.
If you see yourself as “just an editor” or “just a camera operator”, this probably isn’t the role for you. We are looking for an all-round filmmaker who wants to become excellent at the entire production process.
You'll have experience in:
- Filming professionally on location across the UK and occasionally Europe
- Setting up and operating cameras, lighting and sound
- Setting up, balancing and confidently operating camera gimbals
- Shooting interviews, B-roll, events and other live-action content
- Creating smooth, purposeful moving-camera shots
- Working as part of a small production crew
- Editing complete client films in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Turning interviews, B-roll and other material into engaging, well-structured films
- Making strong editorial decisions around story, pacing, music and shot selection
- Creating and adapting graphics, titles and animation in Adobe After Effects
- Colour correcting and grading footage
- Mixing and preparing audio for finished productions
- Managing revisions and implementing client feedback accurately
- Preparing, checking and delivering finished masters
- Organising, backing up and managing production media and edit projects
- Helping prepare equipment and productions before shoots
- Taking responsibility for projects and tasks through to completion
- Supporting colleagues when deadlines are tight
- Representing Pearldrop professionally when working with clients
What we’re looking for
You should already be highly proficient in both filming and editing.
We particularly want someone with strong practical ability in:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Professional video editing and storytelling
- Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, ideally
- Professional camera gimbals
- Professional lighting
- Location sound recording
- Interview filming
- B-roll and moving-camera cinematography
- Colour correction and grading
- Motion graphics
- Professional production and post-production workflows
You should be capable of being given professionally shot rushes and turning them into a strong finished film — not simply assembling clips on a timeline.
Likewise, you should have a strong understanding of how cameras work. You should be comfortable with exposure, lenses, frame rates, shutter speeds, white balance, focus, lighting and sound, and able to make sensible technical and creative decisions without needing constant instruction.
You should also be comfortable setting up and balancing a gimbal properly, selecting appropriate camera settings and lenses for it, and operating it smoothly and confidently in real-world filming situations.
Experience with our exact camera system is desirable rather than essential, but you should already have strong practical camera knowledge and be comfortable moving quickly onto unfamiliar equipment.
This is not an entry-level trainee position. We need somebody who can already make a meaningful contribution to professional productions.

Video production occasionally means early starts, long location days or a deadline that does not coincide perfectly with the end of the working day. We want somebody who understands the realities of professional production and takes shared responsibility for getting the job finished.

Employment details
Salary – £28,500 starting
Holiday – 25 days per annum plus bank holidays
Hours – 37.5 per week
Probationary Period: 6 months

Practical requirements
You must:
- Hold a full clean UK driving licence
- Have your own car
- Be able and willing to travel regularly throughout the UK
- Be willing to travel occasionally to Europe for shoots
- Be able to work full-time from our Stevenage base when not filming
- Be available to start in September/October 2026
This is not a working-from-home role. Production Executives work together from our Stevenage base and regularly travel to shoots.

If most of your portfolio was created as part of a team, tell us specifically what you did. We would much rather see a modest project where you can clearly explain your contribution than an impressive film where your involvement is unclear.
